FAQs
How much will a new website cost me?
As frustrating as it may be, the answer to this is ‘how long is a piece of string?’ In the same way that the cost of a new kitchen would depend on the size of the kitchen, time involved, cost of appliances, materials, and demands of the people using it – the same is true for a website.
For that reason, we pride ourselves on providing tailor-made solutions for your business, so the cost will depend on what you want your new website to do, and the amount of content. For example, a simple one-page website will be cheaper than a complex e-commerce website with a vast array of pages.
As a rough guide, we have charged in the region of £1,000 for a clean, minimal website that works as an informative online presence.
At the other end of the spectrum, we have developed far more complex website solutions with dynamic content, e-commerce solutions, member only sections, and administrative areas. Websites such as this could cost £10,000+.
And, of course, there is everything in between. Rest assured, we will sit down with you and come up with the best solution to fit your budget and requirements.
Do you offer ongoing support?
Some of our clients just need a starting point and are then happy to manage their online presence themselves once handed over. In this case, you will be charged a one-off fee for the work.
Others want to keep their content regularly updated and stay relevant on search engines such as Google. For our clients who require ongoing support, we offer a variety of bespoke services, including:
- Web traffic analysis and reporting
- Web content management
- Monthly SEO analysis
- Weekly or monthly blogs and articles
- Social media management
- Consistent cross-platform branding
How does social media management work?
Like every other service we offer, the management of social media accounts will be tailored to your business needs. We have clients who know almost nothing about social media, but realise it is an important commercial aspect in the modern world. We also have clients who are extremely tech savvy but don’t have the time to dedicate to maintaining a constant online presence.
Whichever camp you fall into, we can offer a solution which fits your needs and budget.
Whether you want to make five posts a day, across multiple platforms, with monthly analysis and reporting, or just two posts per week on LinkedIn. We will do all the research and tailor our content to have the most impact on the platform in question.
Will you interact with our customers on social media?
We are very careful to draw the line between supporting the online presence of your business and being involved in the day-to-day running of it.
Your website and social media platforms can often be useful channels for customer interaction. We firmly believe, however, that managing and interacting with your customers is the area in which the business owners have the expertise, not us. While we will support our clients with navigating the online world, we will not deal directly with your customers.
Not only will we always be on hand to offer advice and support, we also provide comprehensive guides to help you communicate effectively with people on social media platforms – in particular with negative comments or criticisms.
What is SEO and why is it important?
Search Engine Optimisation (SEO) is a fancy term to describe how visible a particular website will be in Google searches.
There is little point having an all-singing-all-dancing website if people can’t find it when they are searching for the products or services you provide.
The first, and most important, aspect of optimising your website for search engines like Google is to define what your potential customers are searching for. Once you have researched and defined the search terms (often referred to as ‘keywords’), then it is simply a case of optimising the website for those keywords.
This is an easier job if you are selling a bespoke product in a defined geographic area, and more challenging if you are selling a popular product across a larger area. For example, getting into the top 5 Google search rankings for the search terms ‘pizza in london’ will be next to impossible. On the other hand, optimising your website for ‘stonebaked pizza in soho’ has a much greater chance of getting your business noticed.
The above illustrates a simple example. There are lots of specific aspects, however, that Google likes and doesn’t like – often counter-intuitive – which can be tweaked or avoided to maximise your exposure. What’s more, Google frequently ‘moves the goalposts’ by changing their own algorithm.
Our SEO experts stay informed about these changes and can ensure your business stays relevant.
