Designing for the elite

A logo refresh to really add a spark for an electrician

Elite Electrics logo designs

The Brief

Elite Electrics, a North London based electrical company, was looking for a new logo. Chris, the owner, had several ideas ranging from something with a military edge to a more retro-inspired design which would work both online, printed on company stationary, but also on the van’s livery.

The Process

With any logo design, I begin with a broad range of ideas which I then work with the client to whittle down to a few key ideas. These are then fine-tuned and evolve before the final design is selected and tweaked into the finished logo. With most logo design, I include designing the company stationary as a logo is rarely seen in isolation, and this helps develop the brand around the logo. Conscious of this logo appearing on the side of a van, I also created several visuals of how this could look.

The Results

The final logo veered away from the more retro-inspired designs and was more influenced by military designs and the mental images of what the word “Elite” conjured up: precision, skill, experience, and efficiency. After the logo design, I continued working with Chris to develop a new website and a full online presence as well as further design work, such as digital and print advertising.
